George (French legend Gérard Depardieu) is an aging and disenchanted film star. When his right-hand man (personal assistant/driver/bodyguard) and only friend, Lalou (Steve Tientcheu), must take a leave of absence for several weeks, Aïssa (Déborah Lukumuena, Divines), a young black woman and semi-pro wrestler who earns a living as a security officer, is appointed as his replacement.
Between the demanding, lonely actor and his young pragmatic assistant, a singular bond begins to take root. Despite their individual differences, life has shaped them in ways more similar than they thought.
The always excellent Déborah Lukumuena holds her ground facing the intimidating figure of Depardieu, just like her character doesn’t let Georges impose on her. A powerful, sometimes funny, sometimes moving tête-à-tête!
This film is part of Young French Cinema, a program of Unifrance and Villa Albertine.
